Wallabies to host inaugural International game at Allianz Stadium

Wallabies coach Dave Rennie has spoken after announcing his 35-man squad for the upcoming England Series.

The Wallabies will make history as the first International event at the brand new Allianz Stadium when they play South Africa on Saturday, September 3.

The new stadium at Moore Park is near completion after years of development, expected to hold 42,500 supporters.

The ground is filled with state of the art technology and will ensure spectators are 100% covered regardless of seating.

It will be the second of two Tests against the world champion Springboks as part of the 2022 eToro Rugby Championship, with the sides clashing at the Adelaide Oval seven days earlier.

"We are extremely excited to be able to host the first ever international event at the new Allianz Stadium," RA CEO Andy Marinos said in a statement.

“To have the Wallabies taking on the World Champion Springboks in front of over 40,000 supporters is going to be an amazing experience, and one I’m sure those in attendance will never forget.

“I would like to thank the NSW Government for their support in hosting the Test and congratulate them on what is a truly world class stadium built here in Sydney.”

Tickets will go on sale from 2pm AEST today (June 9) for Wallaby First members, with Super Rugby Members tickets on sale from 12pm AEST June 10.

It will head on sale to the General Public on June 20 from 12pm AEST, with tickets for every Wallabies home game available at wallabies.rugby/tickets.

The Wallabies will kick off the International season with a three-Test series against England, with tickets selling fast in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney.
