The Wallabies will kick off the 2027 Rugby World Cup at home against Hong Kong China on Friday, October 1, at Perth Stadium (6:45 pm local).

It comes as the Australians will face a blockbuster pool match against the All Blacks at Stadium Australia on October 9.

The opening match of the event in Australia will be hosted at Optus Stadium (6:45 pm local time), marking the first time the Wallabies will face Hong Kong, China.

Following this, they will head to the site of the 2003 and 2027 Rugby World Cup Final, kicking off at 5:10 pm local time.

It marks the first time the two teams will face off in the pool stages, with the Wallabies defeating the All Blacks 22-10 at the same venue in the 2003 Rugby World Cup semi-finals.

The venue will also host the second Bledisloe Test this year on October 17.

Les Kiss' side will conclude their pool stages with an afternoon game against Chile at Brisbane Stadium on October 16 (3:10 pm AEST), another first-time match for the Australians at a ground very familiar to the outgoing Reds coach.

Wallabies skipper Harry Wilson was pleased with the draw, with the Australians hunting for their first title since 1999.

“To have the schedule confirmed for next year’s Rugby World Cup is hugely exciting and certainly heightens the anticipation for what’s going to be an incredible tournament - not just for players but I’m sure for supporters, especially those in Australia," Wilson said.

“To kick off our campaign against Hong Kong China will be special given it’s their first time in a World Cup and we always feel incredibly well supported in Perth.

“New Zealand a week later in Sydney will obviously be a massive occasion and we’ll get a sense of what’s that going to be like when we play them at Accor Stadium later this year.

“Personally, I’m thrilled our third pool game is in my home city of Brisbane against Chile who are one of the rapidly improving nations in World Rugby and will be a massive challenge.”

"It’s incredibly exciting to have the schedule locked in for the Wallabies Pool fixtures, ahead of what’s going to be a truly special tournament here in Australia next year," RA CEO Phil Waugh added.

“We saw during last year’s British & Irish Lions Series and home Tests the massive amount of support there is for the Wallabies, and the game as a whole here in Australia, and I’m sure with today’s announcement fans will be starting to plan their itineraries for what will be memories for a lifetime.

"We look forward to seeing plenty of gold jerseys in 2027.”
