Hat-tricks for full-back Kaiden Grace and substitute winger Lucas Aholahi sealed a 64-19 win for the Waratahs U16s over Western Force U16s at Eric Tweedale this afternoon.
The home side scored 10 tries in total, with Andrew Larkin, Emmett Hall, captain Chris Suaalii and Antonio Azzi also touching down.
Grace kicked seven goals to take his points haul to 29 in a masterful performance to take his side to two wins from two in the competition.
It was in fact the Western Force who took the lead when full-back Kobi Treffery Koenders ran in from the halfway line.
Just four minutes later, Grace responded for the Waratahs and after 13 minutes he crossed for his second after linking nicely down the left wing with Ollie Daniels.
Four minutes later, flanker Larkin received a lovely inside ball from scrum-half Riley Carr to dot down under the sticks.
After half an hour, the home side extended their lead after a concerted spell of pressure. Grace was again involved, floating a left-hand pass out to Hall, who showed his athleticism with a great step and fend to register his first and only try of the game.
Just before the break, the huge Suaalii crashed over from short-range. There was no stopping him from there. Grace added the extras to send the Tahs into the sheds 33-7 up at half-time.
Three minutes after the break, tighthead prop Azzi barged over from to extend the lead, and five minutes later Aholahi, a replacement at half-time, was on the end of a flowing move, with Lachlan Mahoney drawing the last defender to put him over.
Six minutes before the hour mark, Grace completed his hat-trick. Stepping up at first receiver, he threw a dummy before racing over in the corner.
Aholahi scored his second after 59 minutes and then completed his sensational second-half hat-trick four minutes after the hour mark. Receiving another assist from provider Hall, who drew the last man expertly, the Force defender couldn't pull down the Holy Cross College flyer as he scored another five-pointer.
Grace curled in the conversion from the touchline to complete his points haul, before the Western Force registered two consolation tries late on to bring the final score to 64-19.
