The ACT Brumbies will play two pre-season trial matches ahead of the 2026 Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific campaign, one in Perth against the Western Force and a home match at Marist College in Canberra against rivals the NSW Waratahs.
Our first pre-season match will see the team head to Perth and challenge the Western Force at Scotch College on Friday 30 January.
The Brumbies will then head back to local school, Marist College for a second year running to host state rivals the NSW Waratahs on Thursday 5 February. After a successful trial match hosting the Western Force in February earlier this year, Marist College will again host some of Australia’s best players as the team's edge closer to the start of the Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific season.
ACT Brumbies General Manager of High Performance Cam Treloar believes returning to Marist College is a great way to give back to the community.
“Marist continues to provide high quality athletes into the junior and senior academy pathway programmes here at the Brumbies,” Treloar said.
“Senior players Rory Scott and Liam Bowron are ex-pupils of Marist, and they like many others, have showcased the rich rugby history of the school and why it is important for the team to stay connected here in Canberra.” Treloar added.
Treloar also praised the investment from the school to allow high performance teams play on the grounds.
“The fields and facilities have also been a major factor in bringing this trial match back to Marist. They have worked hard to get it to a great standard, and we hope in return we can put a great performance on for the school.” Treloar said.
The pre-season trial matches will offer players the last chance to make an impact on team selections with the first round of the Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific campaign kicking off in Perth against the Western Force on Saturday 14 February.
The Brumbies' first home game of the Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific season will be against the Blues on Saturday 28 February, 7.35pm AEDT at GIO Stadium.
