Australia superstar Maddison Levi has cemented her status as one of the best Sevens players after taking out the 2024 World Rugby Women’s Sevens Player of the Year.
Levi bested New Zealand counterparts Jorja Miller and Michaela Blyde to take out the award for the first time in her career at the award ceremony in Monaco.

It comes off the back of a stunning season for the 22-year-old, who broke every try-scoring record in the past 12 months.
This started in the 2023-24 SVNS world series after scoring 69 tries as Australia took out the title.
In doing so, Levi broke her own record for 12 months earlier and the all-time mark for men or women.
The flyer followed this up with 14 tries at the Paris Olympics, the most by an individual at the Games.
Levi becomes the third Australian to ever take out the award alongside captain Charlotte Caslick and Emilee Cherry (née Barton).
The honour was fitting as Cherry went into the World Rugby Hall of Fame earlier in the night.
It was the third time Levi was nominated for the award in three seasons on the World Series, with the superstar already sitting in top ten for all-time tries.
Levi was also named in the Women’s Sevens Team of the Year, with Australian star Nathan Lawson named in the Men’s Team of the Year.
Levi and Lawson took out the Shawn Mackay Awards at the 2024 Rugby Australia Awards and will both turn their focus towards the opening event of the 2024-25 SVNS series in Dubai from November 30.
In further honours, Springbok Pieter-Steph du Toit was named Men’s 15s Player of the Year as England’s Ellie Kildunne took out Women’s 15s Player of the Year.
Ireland’s Erin King bested Wallaroos teenage sensation Caitlyn Halse whilst Antoine Dupont added to his trophy cabinet with Men’s Sevens Player of the Year.
