The ACT Brumbies can confirm outside backs Corey Toole and Ollie Sapsford will miss Saturday night’s Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific clash against the Queensland Reds at GIO Stadium (kick-off 7.35PM AEDT).
Toole is managing upper leg tightness and, following consultation with ACT Brumbies medical staff, the decision has been made to withdraw the winger from this weekend’s match.
Sapsford sustained a hamstring injury during training and will also miss this match. He will continue to be assessed to determine an appropriate return-to-play timeframe.
Hudson Creighton will move from the bench into the starting side on one wing, while Kye Oates will earn his Super Rugby debut when he takes his place on the other. Austin Anderson comes onto the bench, offering valuable positional cover.
ACT Brumbies Head Coach Stephen Larkham said: “It’s disappointing for Corey and Ollie to miss this weekend, but we have real confidence in the depth of our squad.
“Hudson has taken his opportunities well and deserves his start, and it’s a great moment for Kye to earn his debut. We know the players coming in will do a great job for the team.”
