Queensland Rugby Union Chair Brett Clark AM has been honoured in the 2025 Lord Mayor's Business Awards.

On Thursday night, the Chemist Warehouse Managing Partner received the gong as The Courier-Mail Business Person of the Year. 

Earlier this year, the pioneering of Chemist Warehouse over two decades led to a merger and shares trading on the ASX.

Clark's business acumen is blended with significant philanthropy alongside wife Maria and their daughters.

He established the QRU Foundation, which serves as the philanthropic branch of the business to support rugby in Queensland.

At The Lord Mayor's Business Awards, Brisbane architect Michael Rayner AM was also honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The rugby-loving Director of Blight Rayner Architecture took a deep personal interest in the design of the award-winning BMS National Rugby Training Centre and McLean Stand at Ballymore which was completed in mid-2023.

It has since extended to Blight Rayner Architecture coming on board as a new partner of the QRU to building on that positive relationship.

It was today announced that 1999 World Cup-winning Wallaby and former Queensland Reds standout Daniel Herbert will be inducted into the Queensland Sport Hall of Fame.

The ceremony is set for November 27 when Herbert, former world No.1 tennis player Ash Barty, former Test fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz and rugby league brothers Des and Rod Morris will be inducted. Cricket great Ian Healy will be bestowed with Legend status.

"I'm very humbled to receive this honour. Rugby, and sports generally, plays a critical role in the fabric of our society and our way of life," Herbert said.
