The inaugural Anzac Day Bledisloe Cup Test will be followed by an O’Reilly Cup match between the Wallaroos and Black Ferns to form an historic trans-Tasman rugby double-header at Suncorp Stadium in 2027.

Tickets for the Wallabies’ 2027 campaign go on sale at 12pm AEDT tomorrow following confirmation that Les Kiss’ squad and the All Blacks will be joined in Brisbane by the best female players from Australia and New Zealand on Sunday, April 25 next year.

As announced in June, the Wallabies and All Blacks will pen a new chapter in their 123-year rivalry when they take the field for the first ever time on Anzac Day.

They will be followed by the Wallaroos and Black Ferns. Both sides contested an O’Reilly Cup Test match on Anzac Day this year on the Sunshine Coast and will continue their rivalry in 2027 at the world-class Suncorp Stadium after the history-making Bledisloe Cup clash.

Rugby Australia CEO Phil Waugh said: “In partnership with our friends at New Zealand Rugby, we are profoundly honoured to bring together the Wallaroos, Black Ferns, Wallabies and All Blacks on the day our nations unite to reflect on the values and heritage we share.

“In the rich 123-year history of trans-Tasman rugby, there has been no more meaningful occasion than this. An historic Bledisloe and O’Reilly Cup double-header will connect our countries, inspire our people and strengthen the bonds forged on the shores of Gallipoli on the first Anzac Day.

“A fixture of this significance will draw fans from far and wide to Brisbane and be keenly watched by many millions of viewers around the world as the players of today honour the heroes of the past on a day that means so much to so many.”

Queensland Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said adding the Wallaroos and Black Ferns to the ANZAC Day fixture would make an already significant sporting occasion even bigger.

“Four teams, two great trans-Tasman rivalries and one huge day of rugby at Suncorp Stadium - on a day that marks the close friendship of Australia and New Zealand,” Minister Powell said.

“It will be a moving and memorable day for many reasons and is another great addition to Queensland’s world-class events calendar.”

Queensland Minister for Sport and Racing Tim Mander said the addition of the Wallaroos and Black Ferns would elevate the inaugural ANZAC Day Bledisloe Cup into an even bigger celebration of international rugby.

“The Wallabies and All Blacks on ANZAC Day was already set to be a landmark occasion, and now fans will also get to see the Wallaroos and Black Ferns go head-to-head in a blockbuster double-header,” Minister Mander said.

“Bringing four of Australia and New Zealand’s leading rugby teams together at Suncorp Stadium will create an incredible occasion for fans and further strengthen Queensland’s reputation as the home of sport in Australia.

“This is exactly the kind of world-class sporting event that will help build momentum on the runway to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said: “Anzac Day is one of the most important days for Australians and New Zealanders as we come together to honour those who served and sacrificed.

“Other cities have their Anzac Day sporting traditions, but Brisbane’s historic trans-Tasman rugby double-header will uniquely reflect the bond at the heart of the Anzac spirit.

“Bringing the Wallabies, Wallaroos, All Blacks and Black Ferns together at Suncorp Stadium will make this a truly special occasion for both nations.

“We look forward to welcoming supporters from both sides of the Tasman for a weekend they will never forget in Australia’s lifestyle capital.”
