Incoming Queensland Reds coach Vern Cotter has the backing of new captain Fraser McReight, believing the Blues boss is the right person to take the club forward.
Cotter was unveiled as head coach on Tuesday, set to take over for the 2027 and 2028 seasons from Les Kiss.

He will inherit a roster filled with Wallabies, including new captain McReight, appointed earlier in the month.
McReight, who was named skipper in place of Tate McDermott, believes Cotter will continue the winning ways at the club.
"I think it's a great decision for the club," McReight said. "Les and all the other coaches here have done a fantastic job as of today ad we've got one more year, which is kind of where the focus is at.
"He's a winner, and he's done some really great things, so I'm sure he's just going to continue the tradition of really good coaches here at the Reds and help us to get even better after this season."
The Reds flanker will get his first chance to lead out the side on Saturday against the NSW Waratahs at Ballymore.
Carter Gordon will start at flyhalf after coming off the bench last week, with Harry McLaughlin-Phillips coming off the bench and Tom Lynagh still out of the squad
"[Flyhalf] is still up in the air, to be honest. I'm sure there'll be more training, see how the weekend goes, and just work out combinations and understand," McReight believes.
"He's been great. I think he's a bit older now, obviously, so he's had experience at Wallaby level, at NRL level. He's come back here with such a great sense of confidence and self-belief, so if he sees things that he doesn't necessarily agree with or thinks we can do better, he stops meetings, and he talks and takes over, which a good 10 do.
"We have great 10s in HMP, Carter and 'Turbo' [Tom Lynagh] and they're all quality...I think having Carter in the environment makes 'Turbo' and HMP really competitive in training.
"They see all the good things he's doing in meetings, leading, they just have to follow suit and I think that is great for the environment here."
