Ireland’s Tadhg Furlong is set to equal Welsh legend Alun Wyn Jones for consecutive Lions Test starts when Andy Farrell's side take the field on Saturday.

There's a distinctly Irish flavour to Farrell's starting side with Furlong named for his ninth consecutive start in the Lions' #3 alongside nine of his countryman.

Dan Sheehan and Andrew Porter join Furlong in an unchanged front row while captain Maro Itoje - who also brings up his ninth consecutive Lions appearance - partners James Ryan ahead of an unchanged loose trio featuring Tadgh Beirne, Tom Curry and Jack Conan.

Jamison Gibson-Park and Finn Russell reprise their halves combination for the third straight Test with Bundee Aki and Huw Jones also retained in the midfield.

The biggest change comes out wide with James Lowe dropping out entirely for Scotsman Blair Kinghorn to join Tommy Freeman and Hugo Keenan in the Lions backfield.

Coach Farrell has opted for a 6-2 split with Ben Earl returning as a Test finisher alongside Ronan Kelleher, Ellis Genge, Will Stuart, Ollie Chessum, Jac Morgan, Alex Mitchell and Owen Farrell. "We have put ourselves in a great position to finish this Tour with our best performance to date and create our own piece of history," Farrell said in a statement.

“Last weekend’s Test match in Melbourne was an incredible spectacle and illustrated how special Lions Tours are and what they mean to both the players and the supporters.

“We are expecting another epic battle this weekend against a Wallaby side that showed their quality last week.”
