Australian rugby international Jordan Petaia rebounded from being waived by NFL outfit Los Angeles Chargers by signing for Top 14 side Perpignan on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old, whose try out with the Chargers was ruined by a succession of injuries, signed a one year contract.

Petaia, capped 31 times by the Wallabies and a veteran of two World Cup campaigns, further bolsters a Perpignan side who signed former Scotland captain Jamie Ritchie earlier in the close season.
Petaia offers Perpignan variety as he can also slot in at wing and full-back.
The former Red had signed a three-year deal with the Bolts in April after impressing as part of the league's International Player Pathway (IPP) in a 10-week Florida crash course earlier this year.
However, he was released ahead of the NFL regular season.
The one-year deal opens the door for Petaia to return to Australia ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup, with the Reds saying they would be open to his return when he originally left.
"Jordy's on a pathway to some other opportunities but we've got a good handle on it," Reds coach Les Kiss said last September.
"He's here now (training at Ballymore), so there's good communication with him and we have our finger on the pulse at that evolves."
Perpignan open their campaign at home to last season's championship semi-finalists Bayonne on September 6.
They will hope to be vastly improved from the side that finished second from bottom and only retained its elite status by beating Grenoble in a promotion/relegation play-off last term.
