The Western Force today confirms Kurtley Beale and Harrison Goddard will spend the 2027 Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific campaign with the Club on season-long train-and-trial deals.

Beale, who has 95 Wallabies caps to his name, has re-committed to the Force, having spent the past two-and-a-half seasons in the west.

Experienced scrum-half Goddard, 28, joins the Force after a stint in Japan, having previously brought up more than 50 Super Rugby caps.

The pair will be available to play on injury cover contracts in the event of an injury to a Force wider squad member.

Beale, 37, has played 25 times for the Force since his move to WA, offering experience, voice and quality to the backline. His form in 2024 led to a Wallabies recall.

The utility back’s value was underlined when he starred as the Force won the recent Swyftx Super Rugby AUS title. Beale was also voted third in the Super Rugby AUS Player of the Tournament.

Former Australia U20s rep Goddard adds to the half-back depth, alongside Luke Aiken, Nathan Hastie, Agustin Moyano and Henry Robertson.

Goddard previously had stints with the Melbourne Rebels (2017-2019, 13 caps), NSW Waratahs (2023, 10 caps) and ACT Brumbies (2024-2025, 28 caps), before one season in Japan with Shimizu Blue Sharks.

Force head coach Simon Cron said: “We’re really happy to retain KB and add Harrison to the Force for 2027.

“KB has been a critical piece for the Force over the past few seasons, adding ball playing, experience and voice to our backline. Last season he regularly made a big impact off the bench and is showing no signs of letting up.

“Harrison is a great addition for 2027. He has a brilliant pass and kicking game as well as experience at a Super Rugby level. We know he’ll complement our 9s and 10s combinations and help us with depth.”

Beale said him and his family were loving life in their chosen home of Perth and delighted to stay at the Force.

“My family and I are rapt to remain in the west, which we’ve made home for the past few years,” Beale said. “I’m loving working with this group, feeling good physically and excited to rip into pre-season.”

Goddard was excited about the new challenge at the Force and driving the side to success.

“Joining the Western Force is an exciting new challenge and an opportunity I’m hungry for,” Goddard said. “It’s nice to be back on Australian soil.

“The Force are a club that has been building well and has a strong group of boys. I’m eager to bring my experience to the club and contribute to driving success next season.”
