Loose forward Caelan Doris will return from injury to captain Ireland for their four November Tests as part of the Autumn Nations Series, the Irish Rugby Football Union announced on Wednesday.

Doris, 27, has been sidelined since May with a shoulder injury, which ruled him out of the British and Irish Lions squad and has yet to play for province Leinster this season.

Ireland coach Andy Farrell has named one uncapped player in his squad for games against New Zealand, Japan, Australia, and South Africa, in Leinster prop Paddy McCarthy.

Englishman Farrell makes his comeback to the Ireland set-up, having missed the Six Nations and July Tests as he was head coach of the Lions.

"We're playing four top-quality southern hemisphere teams who are all coming off the back of a busy block of matches of late, and they'll be keen to finish their year strongly," Farrell said in an IRFU statement.

"First up is New Zealand, and we're really excited to get back to Chicago.

"I've no doubt the Irish global supporter base will be out once again in force to cheer on the team in a brilliant city at a world-class arena," he added.

Full-back Hugo Keenan, lock Joe McCarthy, winger Calvin Nash, and lock Cormac Izuchukwu has been ruled out of next month's games with injuries.

Farrell's side faces the All Blacks at Soldier Field on November 1, having beaten the three-time Rugby World Cup winners for the first time on their first visit to the US city in 2016.

They then host Japan, Australia, and South Africa in Dublin on the following three Saturdays.
