The 2024 Buildcorp Super Rugby Women's season was officially launched in Brisbane this evening as players representing the six competing teams came together at Ballymore Stadium.

With the opening round of fixtures kicking off on Friday 15 March, the players shared their hopes and expectations for the season ahead before participating in a fiery photoshoot on the Ballymore field.

The launch coincided with the announcement that Buildcorp has recommitted to Australian Rugby and will continue as naming rights partner for the Super Rugby Women's competition - a position they have held since the inaugural Super W season in 2018.

The teams were represented at the launch by Cecilia Smith (QLD Reds), Piper Duck (NSW Waratahs), Siokapesi Palu (ACT Brumbies), Trilleen Pomare (Western Force), Melanie Kawa (Melbourne Rebels) and Asinate Serevi (Fijian Drua).

The 2024 Buildcorp Super Rugby Women's competition has created the biggest stage yet for some of Australia's best athletes to showcase their skills, with closer alignment with Super Rugby Pacific delivering 13 double-header fixtures.

Back-to-back champions Fijian Drua are hunting a historic three-peat in 2024 under new coach and former Fiji captain Mosese Rauluni.

The QLD Reds, also with a new head coach in Grant Anderson, are out for revenge after falling just short in last year's Final.

Bolstered by a trio of returning Wallaroos, the NSW Waratahs are looking to reassert their dominance after a disappointing semi-final exit in 2023.

Enjoying a largely settled squad, the ACT Brumbies are on the rise with recent Test debutants Faitala Moleka and Tabua Tuinakauvadra leading the way.

The Western Force have been boosted by a number of international signings to elevate their expanding professional program, while the Melbourne Rebels have recruited former Wallaroos skipper Grace Hamilton and are out to cause some upsets in 2024.

Every game of the 2024 Buildcorp Super Rugby Women's season will be broadcast live, on-demand and ad-free on Stan Sport.
