The votes are in! The fan-voted Western Force Legends XV is revealed with a star-studded line-up selected as part of the Super Rugby 30 years’ celebrations.

The Club called on the Sea of Blue to select their all-time Force Legends XV over the past fortnight, selecting each position from 1 to 15.

The fan-voted Force Legends XV includes some all-time greats, such as the Club’s three hundred-gamers Matt Hodgson, Pek Cowan and Ian Prior, seven Nathan Sharpe medalists and two current players.

Foundation captain Nathan Sharpe is selected in the locks, alongside current skipper Jeremy Williams who is one of two current players in the line-up along with reigning Nathan Sharpe medalist Tom Robertson.

On the front row are props Cowan, who played 137 times for the Force, and Robertson alongside inaugural signing Brendan Cannon, narrowly beating Nathan Charles to the hooker spot.

Inaugural captain and 92-gamer Sharpe teams up with current Wallabies lock Williams in the second row.

Club record games holder and three-time Nathan Sharpe medalist Hodgson is named at blindside flanker. Alongside Hodgson is 2012 Nathan Sharpe medal winner David Pocock at openside flanker and 2015 Nathan Sharpe medalist Ben McCalman at number 8.

Prior, who notched up 110 Force caps, got the nod at scrum-half, with foundation fly-half and 2007 Nathan Sharpe medalist Matt Giteau voted in at first five-eighth. Fan favourite James O’Connor and Zimbabwe-born, WA-raised Kyle Godwin are the centres.

Cult figure Nick Cummins and Drew Mitchell are named on the wings, with another WA local, Dane Haylett-Petty narrowly edging out all-time Force leading try scorer Cameron Shepherd for the full-back spot.

Now that voting is complete, each selected player progresses to the second phase, which is a league-wide Super Rugby Legends XV beginning on Monday 9 February.

The position winners from each Club Legends XV will go head-to-head, with fans voting to determine the greatest player in each position across the entire 30-year history of Super Rugby.

To ensure the full history of Super Rugby is represented, one wildcard player per position will also be included from teams that are no longer part of the competition.

One position will be voted on each week. Weekly contenders will be announced on Mondays, with results revealed each Sunday.
