Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt has confirmed his 36-player squad to face a red-hot Los Pumas outfit in Australia, with several big names returning.
The Wallabies departed South Africa with two strong performances - including a historic victory at Ellis Park - and a full casualty ward with Tom Wright, Ben Donaldson and Dylan Pietsch among those injured.

All three are set to miss the upcoming two match series, as will Langi Gleeson, who is managing a sore heel, and Will Skelton, who will return to club commitments with La Rochelle in France.
Discussions are ongoing regarding Skelton’s availability following the two Tests against Argentina.
However, with several players rotated out due to injury, Schmidt will be welcoming back other veteran into his squad, with new NSW Waratahs recruit Pete Samu set to be named in his first Wallabies squad since 2023.
Allan Alaalatoa will also return after recovering from a shoulder injury sustained during the British & Irish Lions series, while Tom Lynagh makes his comeback from a concussion sustained in the third Lions Test in Sydney.
Winger Harry Potter rejoins the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury, while Taniela Tupou, Nic White and Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii have been named after overcoming a dislocated finger and two concussion injuries in Cape Town, respectively.
James Slipper will also return to the squad after overcoming a concussion injury in Johannesburg.
Filipo Daugunu and Hamish Stewart have been named in place of Pietsch and Donaldson, while Josh Canham will complete the changes in the squad, taking Skelton’s place.
The squad will assemble in Townsville on Sunday, before Tests at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on September 6, and at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on September 13.
“While it’s disappointing to lose some players in what was an attritional fortnight in South Africa, we’re pleased to be able to lean into the squad depth that we’re trying to create and welcome back some familiar faces to the group,” Schmidt said in an official statement.
“Argentina have been in strong form this year with wins over the British & Irish Lions and New Zealand and we know they’ll be very tough to beat in Townsville.”
