Queensland nab junior double

Queensland took out the double in the junior national finals at Ballymore on Saturday.

The northerners beat out NSW in both the Junior Gold Cup and Junior Rugby Championship final ahead of two big schools internationals.

Queensland Red beat NSW Gen Blue I 17-5 in the Junior Gold Cup decider after a 12-5 lead at half-time.

Queensland I cruised to a 41-12 win over NSW I in the U16 Junior Rugby Championship decider as well.

Both sides were the dominant teams of the tournament and proved their quality in the final.
