An Australian development team has fallen at the final hurdle at the Hottest Sevens, the team's final tune up before Sydney takes centre stage.

The Australians fell 7-0 to the Borneo Eagles in the final, having beaten Tabadamu 28-14 to book a ticket in the big dance.

Photo: Hottest Sevens MediaEarlier, the Aussies cruised to victories against the Mosquitoes, Tribe 7s, Swampdogs, Northern NSW Hogs to remain undefeated prior to the final.

But they were unable to trouble the scorers against the Eagles, falling short in the sweltering conditions.
