Rebels youngster Jonah Placid is heading to France, signing with Toulon.

The French Top 14 runner-up announced his looming acquisition on their website overnight, with the 22-year-old joining the club for two seasons.

Placid is in his third season with the Rebels, after starring at Schoolboys level, but has battled for regular game time during the early part of his career.

The NSW-born, Queensland-raised back played for the U20s  three years in a row, before graduating into the regular Super Rugby ranks this season.
