The Super Rugby finalists will be decided by next Sunday morning, with the two semi-finals slated for Saturday night.

The Lions survived a Crusaders challenge overnight to clinch their home semi-final, against the Highlanders, who beat the Brumbies on Friday night.

The South African side’s win ended the chances of an all-New Zealand semi-final weekend and keeps them in with a chance of potentially hosting the Super Rugby final.

Their opponents, the Highlanders, will be setting off on yet another long haul trip, having been to Port Elizabeth, Argentina and Canberra in the past month.

On the other side of the draw, the Hurricanes are in the box seat for a second-straight Super Rugby final, having won their quarter-final against the Sharks in atrocious conditions.

Last year’s grand finalists will host the Chiefs  in their final four clash, with a win guaranteeing them hosting rights for the decider a week later.
