Taqele Naiyaravoro will re-join the NSW Waratahs from July for the next two seasons after cutting short his stint with the Glasgow Warriors, jumping straight into the Wallabies June squad.
Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson was thrilled to have Naiyaravoro return to Australia early.
“I’m delighted to have him back and competing for a wing spot. He’s a different type of winger and uses his size and speed to good effect,” he said.
“He will add to our strike power out wide, increasing the competition for our back three.
“I’m sure he has grown as a player too, having experienced Northern Hemisphere rugby.”
Naiyaravoro’s return to NSW means he’s eligible for Michael Cheika’s Wallabies squad to face England next month, named in Thursday’s 39-man squad.
At 195cm and 120kg, Naiyaravoro adds size and depth to the Wallabies backline that has been hit by injury of late, already missing the likes of Joe Tomane, Henry Speight and Drew Mitchell for the upcoming tour.
Naiyaravoro debuted for the Wallabies against the USA Eagles in September last year in his one and only Test for Australia, scoring a try with his first touch at international level.
