Tongan international Steve Mafi was on Tuesday named among seven new recruits signed for next season by Top 14 side Castres.

The 26-year-old Australian-born flanker arrives from Super 15 side Western Force on a two-year deal with an option for a third having previously spent four years with English side Leicester.

Other new recruits handed two-year deals were South African centre Robert Ebersohn from Montpellier, Australian-born centre Afusipa Taumoepeau from second division Albi and New Zealand centre Ma'ama Vaipul from Super 15 side Chiefs.

French props Daniel Kotze (Clermont) and Damien Tussac (Montauban) are also among the new signings along with Tudor Stroe (Tarbes), the latter two on three year deals.

Earlier in the season Castres announced the arrival of Clermont lock Loïc Jacquet and South African hooker Jody Jenneker from Oyonnax.
