Steve Mafi returns to the Western Force starting side for Friday's clash against the Crusaders.

Mafi hasn't started for the Force since round two, and replaces Ross Haylett-Petty at lock who has been left out of the squad after suffering a head knock last week against the Crusaders.

In the only other change to the match day 23 Francois van Wyk will make his first appearance of 2016 after recovering from surgery on a dislocated wrist.

In a huge milestone for the Force Angus Cottrell will earn his 50th Super Ruby cap, despite being stretchered off last weekend.

Head Coach Michael Foley says his side will continue to back their new game plan against the Crusaders.

“We set about changing the way we play this season by being more dynamic with ball in hand and while we haven’t got the wins we’d all like, we will persevere," he said.

The Force take on the Crusaders at 9pm AEST, LIVE on FOX SPORTS.
