Kurtley Beale is in doubt for this weekend's clash with the Rebels.

Backline ace Kurtley Beale has been forced to sit out NSW Waratahs training with an elbow injury that has him in doubt to face Melbourne on Sunday.

Beale copped a knock on Tuesday and was unable to join the squad 24 hours later, instead applying ice and strapping to the arm.

The Wallabies utility had been earmarked to line up at fullback in their Super Rugby clash against the Melbourne Rebels on Sunday to allow Israel Folau to make his long-awaited move to outside centre.
