The round one Waratahs vs Reds clash will be the first full Super Rugby replay shown on Network Ten.

As part of the new broadcast deal, the free-to-air network will be delivering a first for Rugby fans, with a match replayed on Sunday mornings.

Network Ten has locked in the first eight rounds of its Super Rugby schedule, announcing the selected matches on Friday.

The Brumbies vs Waratahs round two clash will be broadcast on March 6, with the Force vs Brumbies the following week.

Four consecutive trans-Tasman clashes, kicked off by the Waratahs-Highlanders clash on March 20, will be shown by Ten in the first eight rounds.

Rebels vs Highlanders, Brumbies vs Chiefs and the Reds  vs Highlanders will be shown from rounds 5-7.

Rounding out the first half of the season will be the second epic, fiery clash between the Waratahs and Brumbies on April 17.

ARU CEO Bill Pulver said the increased free-to-air presence was critical for the game.

“Having a presence on free-to-air television is a huge step forward for the Asteron Life Super Rugby competition and we are privileged to have a great partner in Network Ten.”

“Having a full replay of one of the blockbuster matches of the round on Network Ten each Sunday morning will give more Australian viewers a taste of the best provincial Rugby competition in the world, and once they’ve sampled the action there’s no doubt they’ll keep coming back for more.”

Network Ten CEO, Paul Anderson said the channel was excited to be adding to its Rugby schedule this season.

“The new Rugby agreement strengthens and extends our commitment to Rugby and will bring more great matches to fans across the country.

“Rugby is a vital part of our premium sport content on Network Ten.

“Our new, expanded partnership with the Australian Rugby Union and Fox SPORTS will ensure viewers get the best possible coverage across all television.”

The remaining matches will be announced later in the season, while the network has committed to showing replays of all Super Rugby finals featuring an Australian team.
