Aussies to feature in Premiership action

While the Six Nations has paused a number of competitions in Europe this weekend, there are still plenty of Aussies in action in the UK’s Premiership.

Wallabies veteran George Smith will come off the bench for Wasps against Newcastle, after captaining the side a week ago.

Capped Wallaby Cooper Vuna will be starting on the left wing for Worcester when they face the London Irish.

Both sides have clinched just two victories in the Premiership this season and will be searching for a morale-boosting win this weekend.

Peter Betham will start on the right wing for Leicester when they face the Sale Sharks on Sunday morning (AEDT).

The Tigers are sitting third on the table at this point in the Premiership, with eight wins from 10 matches this season.

Ex-Wallabies captain James Horwill will start at lock for the Harlequins against Northampton.

The ‘Quins are sitting fourth in the Premiership after 10 matches while Northampton has just four wins heading into the halfway point of the season.

FRANCE

James O’Connor is starting on the wing for Toulon in an exhibition match against South African side the Durban-based Sharks.

The Toulon side will be captained by Springbok winger Bryan Habana.

With Quade Cooper in Sydney, Matt Giteau injured and Drew Mitchell not named, O’Connor will be the sole Aussie featuring in the side for the match.
