Wallabies back Matt Giteau will miss three weeks of rugby with a suspected groin injury, ruling him out of this weekend’s Champions Cup clash.

Giteau missed last weekend’s win over Pau and will again be replaced by fellow Wallaby Quade Cooper at flyhalf.

Cooper had a mixed outing a week ago but has been handed the starting 10 spot for the second week in a row as Toulon prepares for its critical tournament clash against Bath.

James O’Connor will start at fullback after his man of the match performance against Pau, while Wallabies winger Drew Mitchell will miss the clash.

The French side must win to stay in the hunt for a home quarter-final and keep their chances of defending their Champions Cup title alive.

Wallabies halfback Will Genia has not been named for Stade Francais in its clash against Munster.

It will be a critical match for Stade’s Irish opponents, a side that will feature former Wallaby Mark Chisholm at lock.

A loss would nearly end Munster’s chances at a quarter-final spot, with the side needing to win all of their remaining matches to qualify.

Taqele Naiyaravoro will play on the right wing for Glasgow in its Champions Cup clash against Racing 92.

Naiyaravoro has proven himself as a major attacking weapon in  the competition so far, making 366 metres - the most of any player - despite playing just 187 minutes in the tournament.

PREMIERSHIP

Wallabies veteran George Smith will start at openside flanker for Wasps in their match against Worcester on Sunday morning (AEDT).

Cooper Vuna will start on the wing for the Warriors as the promoted side search for their third win of the year.

Both sides have had mixed seasons in the Premiership, with Wasps in eighth and Worcester in 10th overall.

Winger Peter Betham returns to the Leicester Tigers side against Northampton Saints as they look to solidify their top three spot.

Former Wallabies captain James Horwill will start at lock for the Harlequins as they face ladder-leading Saracens this weekend.

After a strong start to the year, the Quins have had mixed results in recent weeks and a win would be crucial to keep them in touch with the top echelon of the competition.
