Former NSW Waratahs and Melbourne Rebels fullback Tom Kingston joined the national Sevens program in November 2015. After a stop-start stint in Super Rugby, Kingston starred in the 2015 Buildcorp National Rugby Championship, playing every game as the Sydney Stars transformed themselves from cellar-dwellers last year to Semi-Finalists this time around.

After playing in nine tournaments during the 2015-16 Sevens World Series, Kingston was named as a travelling reserve for the Rio 2016 Olympics. Kingston earned a call-up for days two and three after Lewis Holland was ruled out of the tournament through injury.
