Biography
McDermott broke through for his maiden Queensland try in 2019, but it didn’t stop there as he set the Super Rugby world alight scoring four impressive tries in six games for the Reds.
At just 19-years-old, McDermott represented Australia in Sevens, while also helping University of Queensland to premierships in both Colts and Premier Grade. In the same year he was also a part of Queensland Country’s 2017 title-winning NRC campaign.
Touted as the next Wallabies scrumhalf, McDermott was instrumental in seeing a re-birthed Queensland side into their first final since 2011 when they played the Brumbies in Canberra in the Super Rugby AU Final. Included in his first Wallabies squad in 2020, McDermott will be one to watch in The Rugby Championship.
