Born and raised in Victoria, Samantha Treherne seemed destined to be surrounded by rugby with her family heavily involved in the local Footscray rugby club. Treherne proved she had the talent and grit to match her family's love for rugby, representing her state in both XVs and Sevens and even captaining Victoria at only 21. Treherne made the move to Queensland in 2017 where she linked up with Sunnybank and it was from there that she was propelled into the national realm. Treherne is a member of the Aussie Sevens and the Wallaroos squad and has quickly become one of the most recognised women's rugby players.
Treherne was selected to represent Australia at the International Women's Rugby Series in New Zealand and represented Australia at the Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland.
