Making his Super Rugby debut in 2012 for the Queensland Reds, Brisbane born Sam Lane played just two games for the Reds before suffering a severe knee injury. 2013 saw Lane move to the Waratahs to continue his Super Rugby career, but stepped down to make sure his knee was completely right. Lane has been playing with the Manly Marlins in Sydney's Shite Shield since 2013, and made his NRC debut in 2015 with the Sydney Rays. Lane has been using the NRC competition as a platform to make his way back into Super Rugby.
