Hailing from Narooma, on the far south coast of NSW, Remi Wilton grew up playing Rugby League for the ‘Narooma Devils’ from the ages of four through to twelve. It wasn’t until Wilton commenced boarding school at Yanco Agricultural High that Rugby Union was introduced to her and she took to it straightaway. Showing a trademark combination of grit and determination, Wilton played her first game of 7’s with the ‘Leeton Phantoms’ in 2013, going on to take out victory in the Grand Final with a ‘Best on Ground’ performance. She went on to play her first 15-a-side game the same year, debuting for the Brumbies Schoolgirls in the number nine jersey. It’s safe to say 2013 ignited Wilton’s interest in the sport, and in turn marked the beginning of her playing career.
Going on to debut for the Brumbies Women’s 15’s Team in 2015, Wilton was then selected in the Wallaroos Squad at just 18 years of age. Wilton has played in both the 7’s and 15’s sides for the Brumbies since debuting and is now entering her seventh consecutive season in the ACT colours.
