2015 was the second straight year pat Leafa played every Super Rugby game for the Rebels, featuring in all but 108 minutes during 2015 and extended his contract until at least the end of 2017. The Auckland-born hooker was one of six Rebels to record more than 100 tackles for the season and one of nine Rebels to carry the ball into contact more than 100 times in what was his first season in the Rebels' leadership group. Leafa moved to Melbourne to join the Rebels in 2013 following an outstanding season with the Tuggeranong Vikings in Canberra's Club competition where he won the MacDougall Medal for the best player in the competition in his first year living in Australia. In his first season in Melbourne, Leafa made his Super Rugby debut against the Brumbies and also played against the British & Irish Lions, while also impressing with Box Hill in the Dewar Shield. The mobile hooker enjoys the physicality of his role, and is renowned for his work-rate, 'follow-me' attitude and consistent desire to improve and has made the most of his opportunities since starting the 2014 season in the Rebels' run-on squad.
