A passion for women's rugby runs in Kiri Lingman's family. The Queensland backrower's mother, Shelley, played for the Wallaroos and ultimately became the side's first female coach. Though that was all before Kiri was born, the talent was very much passed on through the generations. Lingman first started playing rugby in 2014 for powerhouse club Sunnybank and her rise up the ranks began from there. Injury robbed her of the chance to play in the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup, before she returned to the national fold in 2018.
Lingman earned her first start in Rotorua against the Black Ferns.
Lingman returned to the national side after an impressive Super W campaign.
