Jonah Placid became the 80th player to represent the Rebels when he made a try-scoring debut against the Lions at AAMI Park in Round 6, 2015. Placid, who made one appearance at the Reds before signing a deal to move south and join the Rebels, was the youngest member of the 2015 squad, heading to Italy in June to represent Australia at his third straight World Rugby U20s Championship. Capable of lining up anywhere in the back three, Placid played a starring role in Melbourne University's rise to premiership in the 2015 Dewar Shield, after also starring for the 2014 Melbourne Rising side which won the minor premiership in the inaugural NRC, scoring his first try against Brisbane City at Ballymore. Placid, who grew up in Rockhampton and was schooled in Toowoomba, played a key role for the Rising in the 2015 NRC and is one of the most exciting young players in the Rebels' squad.
