The son of former Queensland and Wallaby great, Greg Cornelsen, backrower Jack Cornelsen impressed selectors throughout the 2015 Premier Rugby competition where he represented University of Queensland, to win a spot in the Queensland Country side for the NRC.

One of the more than a dozen young players to make their NRC debut in 2015, Cornelsen featured throughout the competition for Country, alternating between blindside flank and no.8, and gaining invaluable experience playing and training alongside the likes of Ed Quirk and Radike Samo.
