Harriet Elleman started playing rugby union in 2012 in her first year of University at Charles Sturt in Wagga Wagga. Before this she used to swim competitively throughout school and in long distance open water ocean swims (2km or 5km). Elleman began her career as the first captain of the Wagga Agricultural College Women’s 7s team and continued playing whilst studying to complete her Bachelor of Animal Science, graduating in 2016. She has represented Charles Sturt University at two Australian University Games in Rugby Sevens, winning gold at both tournaments (2015 and 2016).
Elleman has also represented Southern Inland Rugby Union in their 7s representative side for several years. Shortly afterwards, she was selected to play for the Brumbies Women’s 7s team to attend nationals in November 2016, finishing in the top 8. Since then she has switched it up and played at flanker for the Brumbies at the Women’s XV National Competition in 2017, finishing second from where she was selected in the Brumbies Super W team as a flanker/hooker in 2018. In the Super W season Elleman played against the Queensland Reds and Melbourne Rebels.
