Emma Tonegato has been a linchpin of the Australian backs since she made her debut in 2013 and her game has continued to go from strength to strength.Tonegato debuted for the Aussie Sevens side in the opening leg of the 2013-14 Sevens World Series in Dubai in November 2013.
Her try scoring brilliance lead to her being later named player of the Tournament for the Atlanta leg of the Sevens World Series in April 2016 and a month later she was named in the 2015-2016 World Rugby dream team. Kicking off 2017 by pulling on a jersey for the University of Adelaide in the Aon University Sevens Series, Tonegato was a key link in the team alongside teammates Mahalia Murphy and Nicole Beck.
Her impressive performances landed her more team selections including the Central Coast Sevens and the Oceania Sevens as well as again pulling on the number 5 jersey in December for the first leg of the World Series in Dubai.The 2017/2018 season saw Tonegato don the Gold jersey for every leg of the World Series and scoring 26 tries across the season, adding to her already impressive 440 career points.
A season stand out and constant high performer, saw Tonegato gain selection in the 2018 Commonwealth Games squad, where yet again tries were raining in, guiding the Aussies to their silver medal finish.
