Dom Shipperley moved to Melbourne to join the Rebels in 2015 after signing a two year deal with the club. Shipperley scored four tries in 12 appearances during his debut season with a broken hand preventing him for playing every match. The Wallabies winger proved a hugely popular addition to the squad, averaging over 50 metres with ball in hand per match to rank in the top three at the club. Shipperley represented Melbourne University in the Dewar Shield when returning to full fitness after his hand injury and made his 50th Super Rugby appearance alongside Mike Harris against the Lions at AAMI Park. Prior to moving to Melbourne, the 25-year-old made over 40 appearances for the Reds across four seasons, scoring 13 tries in the process and winning the 2011 Super Rugby competition. Shipperley's 2012 season was particularly impressive, as he scored eight Super Rugby tries and was rewarded with his maiden three Wallaby appearances during that years' edition of The Rugby Championship.
