Second rower, Culum Retallick, moves to Melbourne after making almost 50 Super Rugby appearances in his native New Zealand. Retallick, who debuted for the Chiefs in 2010, has also represented the Blues and Highlanders and played alongside new Rebels teammates Tamati Ellison and Adam Thomson. He will provide great experience to the club’s locking stocks, alongside the likes of Luke Jones, and young guns Steve Cummins, Sam Jeffries and Lopeti Timani and moved to Melbourne after completing his captaincy commitments with the Bay of Plenty Steamers in the 2015 ITM Cup. Known for his set piece prowess, Retallick will add size and strength to the scrum and is a great lineout option. He is the cousin of Chiefs and All Blacks lock, Brodie Retallick.
