A product of Queensland Rugby nursery, St. Joseph's College Nudgee, Campbell Magnay is a sizeable young centre touted for future success. Magnay was the youngest player in the inaugural season of the National Rugby Championship when he made his debut for Queensland Country as a 17-year-old, which remarkably came before he was selected to debut in a Queensland Premier Rugby game. Standing at 195cm and weighing in at 98kg, the centre has a big frame yet has pace to burn and can offload in contact, making him a highly valuable and exciting attacking threat.
Campbell Magnay signed a three-year deal with the Queensland Reds as a 17-year-old, following an impressive season with Queensland Country where he was the youngest player in the inaugural Buildcorp NRC in 2014. A product of Queensland Rugby nursery St. Joseph’s College Nudgee, Campbell is a sizeable young centre touted for future success.
After making his Super Rugby debut against the Brumbies in Round 1 Magnay travelled to Italy with the Australian Under-20s for the World Rugby U20 Championship in June, and returned to provide another strong showing for Queensland Country in the 2015 NRC.
Campbell Magnay returns to the Australia U20s in 2016, having been one of Australia’s key backs in the 2015 campaign. A proud Queenslander, Campbell is one of the rising stars of Australian Rugby having already played at Super Rugby level for the Queensland Reds. Currently in the Reds Squad, Campbell will be a key player for Australia’s World Championship charge in Manchester this June.
