Wallabies captain Michael Hooper is looking to do the jersey proud as they launch the playing kit for 2022.
Whilst the 1991-inspired gold stays on the jersey, there's a distinct change on the First Nations jersey, which will also be predominantly gold.
Wallabies captain Michael Hooper was amongst several Waratah players to launch the jersey in Auburn, conducting clinics at St John's Catholic School.
With the England series just two months away, Hooper was motivated to do the jersey 'proud' as they look for their first win over Eddie Jones' men since 2015.
“I’m stoked to have the opportunity to wear the jersey,” he told reporters.
“We love what it represents. We love the effort that is put into it and we want to make it proud.”
The Wallabies jerseys have been styled in partnership with ASICS, featuring a technical mesh jersey knit fabric with moisture wicking and four-way stretch, designed to give players enhanced freedom of movement.
Along with this, it sports new self binding fabric on the seam panels adding extra strength, whilst also featuring an updated modern neckline.
“Working with ASICS Australia on the Wallabies jerseys is always special as it was again this year," RA CEO Andy Marinos said in a statement.
"We had such positive feedback on the return to the traditional gold colour in 2021, so to be able to continue that, as well as make it the predominant colour on the First Nations jersey is extremely exciting for Wallabies supporters around the world.
"ASICS are always at the forefront for new technological advancements to playing kit and I have no doubt the new features will give the Wallabies an edge in their upcoming test matches.
“We look forward to seeing our stadiums full of supporters wearing Wallaby gold throughout our home matches in 2022."
Meanwhile, the First Nations kit incorporates the designs of Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay man Dennis Golding alongside the natural ochre tones of the jersey, representing the 14 Indigenous Wallabies.
Waratahs centre Izaia Perese praised the design, looking to ensure he can wear it once again in a jam-packed International season, starting with a three-Test series against England.
"I think it's really outstanding," Perese said.
"It definitely (gives me the fire to push for a maiden start). There's plenty of good competition out there and I'm definitely focusing on Super at the moment but whatever comes my way I'm pretty keen for it."
