The Western Force hosted the Highlanders in Round Two at HBF Park in Perth.

A hat-trick to Bryce Heem has powered the Blues to a 48-21 win over the Waratahs at Eden Park.

Heem would open the scoring as the hosts raced out to a 15-0 lead after 25 minutes.

However, the Waratahs fought back through Angus Bell and Jake Gordon as they looked to avoid a 10-game losing streak

Unfortunately for NSW, they would fail to capitalise on opportunities as the Blues and Heem raced away with the victory

The Waratahs were struck down with injury before the match with boom centre Izaia Perese ruled out, forcing a backline re-shuffle

The woes would continue for the Waratahs as Bryce Heem beat three defenders to score the first try inside eight minutes.

Too big, too strong

With their winless streak on the line, the visitors were careless with the ball early on as they gave away possession on countless occasions.

This allowed the Blues to race out to a 15-0 lead when Tom Robinson found space after a fortuitous bounce from a charge down.

However, the Waratahs refused to give up as they scored two tries in five minutes through Angus Bell and Jake Gordon to reduce the margin to one point.

Before the break, their work was undone as the Blues powered their way over from a 5m maul.

Angus Bell burst away for the runaway try

Trailing 22-14 at the half, the boys from NSW pushed to reduce the margin as they attacked the Blues' line.

Unfortunately for them, a mistake from a scrum would be the turning point as Rieko Ioane found space behind the ruck, scoring to extend the lead to 15 points.

This would be compounded by the loss of Harry Johnson-Holmes for ten minutes, with the Blues taking advantage as they barged over for a penalty try.

Whilst the Tahs would hit back via Dave Porecki, another error close to the line cost them as Heem crossed for his second.

He would complete the hat-trick just before the break after an Otere Black intercept to seal the 48-21 win.
