South Africa heads to Perth with two teams in different life cycle stages on the SVNS World Series.

The Men are one of the teams to beat after taking out the season-opening event in Dubai.

As for the Women, they are still finding their feet after earning their way onto the circuit towards the end of last year.

The skipper was pivotal to their Dubai success, named Player of the Final and in the Dream Team as he powered them to victory.

With fellow star Rosko Specman out for Perth, the 29-year-old needs to step up if they want to avoid another quarter-final exit

Roos has been the shining light for South Africa in their maiden season as a core side and her story to get to the World Series is nothing short of remarkable.

Abandoned as a child, Roos grew up with her grandmother largely in her salon before her lightning pace attracted the interest of Sevens scouts.

She has 18 tries in her sevens events on the circuit and will be eager to add to that in Sydney
