However, this Super Rugby AU Final has a different feel about it given what the competition and sport has gone through in the past 12 months.
For Reds captain James O'Connor, he was quick to label it one of the biggest of his career
"For sure...This’ll be the first silverware that I’ve been a part of on Australian soil,” he said.
“Everyone talks about it as being another game, but it isn’t another game, it’s a final.
"It's awesome, forty thousand at Suncorp, it's unreal. This is what Rugby is about."
It's a massive call from O'Connor, who played countless high-profile games across the world and for the Wallabies.
However, his view represents the tough period that the sport and players went through during the COVID shutdown.
From fears of amateurism and a player exodus, Australian Rugby is set to take centre stage once again as a packed-out crowd take over Suncorp Stadium, something O'Connor conceded felt like a world away 12 months ago.
"I don't think I could've seen it developing this way. It was a really tough time and it brought a lot of teams together," he believes.
"I think Rugby in general has been through a regrowth. Australian rugby feels good.
"It's been the first time around Brisbane, there's been a great buzz around it, we're being stopped at our local cafes, It's awesome."

This sentiment was shared by fellow Wallaby and Brumbies captain Allan Alaalatoa.
Alaalatoa and the Brumbies are looking to go back-to-back and belives that getting the job done in front of one of the biggest crowds in Super Rugby history would live in Brumbies history.
"It'll be on the biggest ones (I've played in) and that's something that we've spoken about during the week," he said.
"To come out here and win a Final away from home in front of a sold-out crowd would be huge and one of our finest memories yet.
"...We can't wait and we're ready for that first whistle to go off."
