Prop Janita Kareta has taken home the Rebels' top Super W gong after an historic season.

Kareta led Super W in carries this season and was in the top five for tackles at the end of the Rebels' four-game run.

Rebels coach Alana Thomas said the front rower punched above her weight when it came to rugby.

“She may be small in stature for a prop, but Janita is very strong and determined to be the best prop in the country," she said.

“She’s a quiet achiever but a player that everyone wants in their team.

“She’s a deserving winner.”

Former Olympic rower Sally Kehoe took out the team's rookie of the year after impressing in her debut rugby season.

Co-captain Melanie Kawa won the Forward of the Year, in a season where Thomas said the new recruit inspired many of her teammates.

“The energy she brings to the team is amazing," she said.

“She’s always talking whether in attack or defence and constantly getting around players during the game.

“It has been a true highlight for me to be able to coach a player of her ability as a leader.”

Centre Nicole Elmsley won back of the year.

The Rebels enjoyed their first win in Super W history, beating RugbyWA in their final match of the season.
