It was a mixed weekend for Australia's Super Rugby teams in round five.
The Brumbies and Reds found their way to the winners' circle with the Waratahs falling short in Canberra and the Rebels being run down by the Lions at altitude.
Who were the Aussie standouts last weekend?
1. Harry Johnson-Holmes
Johnson-Holmes continues to improve up against some of the toughest Super Rugby packs. The rookie prop put in an immense shift in Canberra under pressure against the dominant Brumbies scrum.
2. Folau Faingaa
Six tries in five games- not a bad stat for a forward. Faingaa is pressing his Wallabies claims with every outing this year, helping a powerful Brumbies pack fire.
3. Ruan Smith
Started in the absence of Taniela Tupou and the Reds scrum was still as powerful as ever. He and twin JP anchored the front row in the clash and their scrum dominance helped the Queenslanders claw their way to a tight win.
4. Sam Carter
The Brumbies lineout inflicted plenty of damage against the Waratahs and Carter was a key in orchestrating that. Finished with 12 tackles for the game as well.
5. Lukhan Salakaia-Loto
Salakaia-Loto was influential in the second row for the Reds against the Sunwolves. Had 17 carries, the most of any Queensland player. Has the versatility to play at six as well but looks at home in the second row.
6. Luke Jones
Jones switched to no. 6 for the Rebels in Johannesburg and was among the best for Melbourne in a slightly different role. Made a monstrous 23 tackles against the Lions and set up an important try as well.
7. Liam Wright
Wright has taken a big step forward this year and again stood up in Tokyo. Scored a strong try, finished with 11 tackles and a turnover as well.
8. Locky McCaffrey
McCaffrey created the biggest buzz of the weekend after another super outing for the Brumbies. Always seems to be playing through some kind of pain but continues to be an amazing physical force
9. Will Genia
Genia had another super outing for the Rebels in Johannesburg, providing the perfect link between the forwards and backs.
10. Christian Lealiifano
Lealiifano continued his consistent season with his outing against the Waratahs, keeping their attacking options open.
11. Henry Speight
Speight normally stands out with his speed but it was his defensive work that was his greatest contribution on Friday night.
12. Billy Meakes
Meakes is on track for his best Super Rugby season since returning from England after another stand out effort for the Rebels. Scored an impressive try and was solid in defence as well.
13. Samu Kerevi
Kerevi is cementing himself as Queensland's most valuable player this season after another stellar outing. Made 93 metres off 14 carries on the weekend and beat nine defenders along the way.
14. Chris Feauai-Sautia
Feauai-Sautia has faltered in many a season because of injuries but the powerful winger seems to finally have hit his straps. Made some impressive breaks against the Sunwolves and created chances for the Queenslanders.
15. Hamish Stewart
Hamish Stewart seemed to finally find his groove in Tokyo with the Reds. Stewart embraced having more freedom at fullback and was one of Queensland's best in a much-needed win.
