Sick of hearing about the trans-Tasman Super Rugby drought?
Brumbies coach Dan McKellar is too, after the streak stretched to 38 matches, with the Blues’ win over the Waratahs last week.
The Brumbies have lost both their matches to Kiwi sides this year, to the Highlanders in New Zealand and the Crusaders at home, but McKellar says things aren’t as bad as the tally makes them seem.
“i'm sick of talking about it.,” he said.
“I think it's over the top. The Waratahs (against the Blues) - that game could've gone either way, our game could've gone either way against the Crusaders.
‘They're certainly shutting out and winning those last 20 minutes, or those moments within games that are proving to be important, the New Zealand teams are doing that well at the moment but I'm just sick of talking about it, I'm sick of listening about it to be honest.
“It's just worrying about us and moving on.”
The Brumbies won’t have a chance to play a New Zealand team again until June 30, when they host the Hurricanes, but they’ll be hoping the streak is done by then.
The Waratahs have an immediate chance to break the duck, as they head to Christchurch to face the Crusaders, and coach Daryl Gibson rates it their biggest game of the year.
“I think we've talked more about the opportunity that presents us there,” he said.
If we can be at our best, I believe we can win and the players believe that.
“So, for us, it's that challenge, making sure we deliver when we need to. I think for us ,it's the biggest game of the season.
“I believe we're more competitive and we're right there in terms of breaking through and becoming that team.
“All year, we've bemoaned the fact around our ball control and we continue to lead the stats with turnovers and against a team who are very good at breakdown.
“So, a lot of our improvement areas is around that, making sure that because we want to play positive rugby, we can make errors and trying to reduce errors.”
The Brumbies host the Rebels on Saturday night, while the Waratahs face the Crusaders on Sunday afternoon, LIVE on FOX SPORTS.
