Bulls prop Pierre Schoeman has been accused of biting Rebels flanker Richard Hardwick in their clash on the weekend.

Schoeman was cited under law 9.12, 'A  player must not physically or verbally abuse anyone. Physical abuse includes, but is not limited to biting."

The Rebels were initially awarded a penalty during the game, but referee Ben O'Keeffe reversed that decision, despite Hardwick protesting and complaining of bite marks.

SANZAAR's citing commissioner deemed the incident met the red card threshold, with Schoeman set to face the Foul Play Review Committee on Monday night (AEST).

Schoeman must plead guilty for the incident to be resolved in that initial hearing, though.
