The Reds were well held by a dominant Chiefs outfit at Suncorp Stadium.
Here's what we learned from the 36-12 loss.
1. Defensive woes continue
Having conceded the second least points in the competition en route to a 3-1 start to the season, the Reds have now conceded a combined 118 points in their last three matches.
While the contact that the Reds do make is noteworthy they are not making defensive reads quick enough and in turn, allowed the Chiefs to do as they pleased in the first half.
It is defence that coach Brad Thorn takes great pride in and as they slipped to their fourth straight loss, the Reds were once again not up to scratch in that department.
2. Sorovi showing signs
It may have been due to the Chiefs switching off with a 31 point lead under their belt but the Reds attack did look more fluid when Moses Sorovi replaced Ben Lucas at halfback.
The ball had been two slow until that point and Sorovi's pass seems to have some extra zest about it.
With the Queensland attack still struggling to fire perhaps a start for Sorovi may open some doors.
3. Kerevi keeps on coming
Samu Kerevi was deemed best on ground for the Reds - rightfully so.
He was by far their most damaging player with ball in hand and was seemingly the only back that caused any sort of defensive headache for a Chiefs side that was picking off Reds runners with relative ease.
The star centre nabbed a brace of tries, amassed 69 metres from his 12 runs and had seven tackle busts to boot.
4. Fa'auli strikes fear into opponents
Johnny Fa'auli rocked Caleb Timu with an enormous hit in the second half that will be replayed around the world this week.
The best part about it - he wrapped the arms and referee Jaco Peyper subsequently deemed the hit legal.
5. Trans-Tasman streak rolls on
Make it 35 straight losses for Australian sides against Kiwi opponents.
The next chance to snap the streak will arise this time next week, when the Brumbies host the Crusaders.
